How Can I Change or Reset the Password for My Trading Platform Account in MetaTrader 4/5 (MT4/5)?

Follow these steps to properly change or reset your trading platform account password in MT4/5:

1. Log in to Your Member Area: Use your credentials (email and password) to access the system.

2. Navigate to the Trading Platform Section: After logging in, select “Platform” from the left sidebar. Then, choose either MT4 or MT5, depending on the platform where your trading account was created and for which you wish to change the password.

3. Go to Account Settings: Find and click the “Settings” tab, then select “Account Settings.”

4. Change the Password: Locate the “Change” button next to the password section and click it.

5. Set the New Password: Kindly follow the steps to set up your new password.

6. Select Password Type: Choose either “Master Password” or “Investment Password,” then click “Continue.”

   • Master Password: This is the primary password for the MetaTrader platform and grants full access to your trading account, allowing you all rights to trade.

   • Investment Password: This is a read-only password that provides limited access. If you log in using the “Investment Password,” you can view open and closed trades and other data but cannot place trades.

7. Create the New Password: You can choose to either generate a new password using a “Random System Password” or create “Your Own Password.” Follow these steps based on your choice:

   • Random System Password: 
     The system will automatically generate a random password. After clicking “Continue,” you will receive an email confirmation with your new password. This option is recommended for enhanced security.

   • Your Own Password: 

     1. Enter the verification code sent to your email. 

     2. Create a new password in the “Create Password” section, then re-enter it in the “Repeat Password” section. 

     3. Click “Submit.” You will see a notification confirming that the new password has been successfully created.

8. Password Requirements: The new password must meet the following criteria:

   • At least 8 characters

   • 1 lowercase letter

   • 1 number

   • 1 special character (e.g., !@#$%^&*()-_}{.+)

   • 1 uppercase letter

9. New Password Confirmation: Once the new password is successfully created, you will receive an email confirmation.
